Providing affordable and engaging programs to students in our community is a critical part of our mission.  YSA focuses on developing appreciation for sport, the outdoors, and healthy lifestyles throughout children’s lives.

YSA works with local venues, sports clubs, nonprofits and businesses to offer a variety classes.  The community works together to provide area children, regardless of family income, an affordable opportunity to learn new sports and the important life lessons gained from them. Students stay active throughout the school year, while receiving crucial supervision on school early release days. Fees are waived and equipment is provided for low-income families.

At the elementary level, Get Out & Play (GO&P) allows students the opportunity to try a variety of sports, regardless of financial need.  This program started as a learn-to ski program offered in January at Park City Mountain Resort.  It has since expanded to school-year programming offering: alpine skiing, bouldering, ski jumping, ice skating, mountain biking, and more.  GO&P is offered at all four Park City School District elementary schools, Weilenmann School of Discovery Elementary, Park City Day Elementary, and Silver Summit Elementary.

ACTiV8, our middle school and junior high program, offers a full roster of 30 after‑school classes in later‑entry sports like biathlon and rowing, and healthy lifestyle and art classes to introduce students to a range of activities not otherwise available to students in this age group. ACTiV8 was started because there were no introductory after‑school classes geared toward this age group. After focus group sessions with students, arts and healthy lifestyle classes were added to the line‑up to expand opportunities for the students to explore new activities and encourage additional screen‑free time. ACTiV8 is offered at six Summit County middle and junior high schools, including Ecker Hill Middle School, Park City Day Middle, Silver Summit Academy, South Summit Middle School, and Treasure Mountain Junior High School.
