WasteLess Solutions is a Utah-based nonprofit working statewide to reduce food waste, strengthen communities, and improve access to nutritious food. Since 2018, we’ve rescued surplus edible food from businesses and organizations and redirected it to local nonprofits serving families, seniors, refugees, and individuals experiencing food insecurity.

Food waste is both a food insecurity issue and a climate issue. When edible food decomposes in landfills, it generates methane which is a greenhouse gas over 80 times more powerful than carbon dioxide in a 20 year timeframe. Our food rescue model diverts surplus food from reaching the landfill while helping our fellow nonprofits stretch their resources and focus on long-term stability and self-reliance for the people they serve.

To date, WasteLess Solutions has rescued more than 3 million pounds of food, provided over 2.5 million meals, diverted 2,000+ tons of CO₂e, and saved 350 million gallons of water. We work across the Wasatch Front, Summit County, Weber County, Davis County and surrounding communities, partnering with food pantries, shelters, refugee agencies, and volunteers to turn excess food into community impact.
