Elevated Mountain Guides

Our Mission:

Elevated Mountain Guides is committed to fostering personal growth in our participants through climbing as our main modality through our main program entitled "Project Climb". We encourage participants to break down their own barriers both on and off the wall by offering opportunities for experiential learning and challenge by choice. Our curriculum is specifically designed to work with youth and adults that have experienced trauma, anxiety, trouble connecting with peers, and/or any other mental hardships and facilitate their personal growth.  We believe that an inclusive, judgment-free outdoor community makes for a better place for all to recreate. 

Where Project Climb started, and where we're going:

We began our Project Climb program in Salt Lake City in the Spring of 2017 through our partnership with The Boys and Girls Club of Salt Lake. We expanded our participants to local Title 1 schools, the Salt Lake County Youth Services (children currently in governmental housing), and other children's organizations. In 2019 we added an adult female refugee program. In 2021 we were able to get back on our feet after the challenges that COVID-19 brought by bringing our Project Climb program to Summit County. With the help of our community partner, SOS Outreach, we were able to provide youth in Summit County with therapeutic climbing opportunities in local Ecco Canyon. This year we were able to run Summer programming with Promise South Salt Lake, a children's refugee program. This Fall we are partnering with the Park City High School developing a whole new curriculum that we look forward to rolling out in 2024!

Our main challenge:

As a small non-profit requiring travel to our programs- is transportation! As such, we have included a campaign to help raise the funds needed to purchase our own 15-passenger van. This particular hurdle discludes so many deserving participants from joining our programs and we'd love to break down that barrier!
