Rules & Eligibility

Eligibility for Participation

Nonprofit organizations must meet all of the following to participate:

• Be IRS designated as a 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization
• Be an active, registered charity with the State of Utah (check your status or apply here)
• Currently provide direct services to people who live and/or work in Summit County, Utah
• Align with the mission, vision, and values of Park City Community Foundation

Park City Community Foundation makes the final determination on participation. Prior year participation does not guarantee future eligibility.

Ineligible organizations include corporate or private foundations, political campaigns, and political party organizations, as well as any organization that supports, engages in, or publishes language inciting violence, intimidation, harassment, threats, or defamation based on actual or perceived race, color, religion, national origin, ethnicity, immigration status, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, or physical or mental ability. Such activities conflict with the Foundation's mission and its commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Rules

• Leaderboard placement is determined by primary area of service, with final determination by the Community Foundation
• Selling tickets, auction items, or other goods or services as part of the campaign is not permitted
• Donors may not receive or be promised anything of value in exchange for a gift
• Funds raised must be used to benefit Summit County, Utah

How Giving Works

• Anyone may donate. Minimum donation is $5.00, with no maximum
• Gifts made through Mightycause and livepcgivepc.org are 100 percent tax deductible, irrevocable, and non refundable
• Accepted online payment methods include credit card, debit card, PayPal, Apple Pay, and bank account (ACH). Checks are not accepted through the online platform, though checks, Donor Advised Fund grants, and other offline gifts may be given directly to nonprofits and reported on their Live PC Give PC page
• This is a 24 hour giving event; gifts must be made between October 1 and November 6, 2026 to count toward prizes, excluding Power Hours
• Donations go to the Mightycause Foundation, a 501(c)(3) that re-grants funds to designated nonprofits. Of each donation, 94.1 percent (less $0.30 per transaction) reaches the agency; the remaining 5.9 percent plus $0.30 covers platform and transaction costs. The Foundation collects no fees of its own
• Only gifts made and tracked on livepcgivepc.org between October 1 and November 6, 2026 count toward prize totals
• Organizations are encouraged to secure their own dollar for dollar match for their campaign page

Participant Agreement

Park City Community Foundation commits to:

• Fund, build, and maintain the livepcgivepc.org platform
• Create a unified campaign message and brand
• Provide marketing templates and other nonprofit tools
• Fund and supply limited collateral materials
• Oversee all aspects of the campaign, including volunteers and public outreach

Participating nonprofits commit to:

• Attend all required meetings and trainings
• Manage their own campaign page and donations
• Promote the campaign through existing community networks
• Dedicate staff and volunteer time to outreach, particularly on November 6, 2026
• Follow all marketing and branding guidelines (see Nonprofit Toolkit)

By registering to participate, you confirm that you have read and agree to the eligibility requirements, rules, and commitments outlined above, and that your organization will provide the necessary documentation.

There is no fee to participate, and registration does not obligate you to continue with the campaign. You may choose not to participate at any time. This is not a legally binding agreement.
