Friends of the Summit County Library

The Friends of the Summit County Library is a non-profit organization involved in improving your library services and resources.

Friends support the library through activities that include volunteer service, cultural, educational and recreational events, and financial assistance for the continuing improvement of library equipment and inventories.

Recent activities/acquisitions for the Summit County Library provided by Friends of the Summit County Library:

• Briefing Books and volunteers for The Great Decisions Program in 2024 and volunteers for the Emerging Issues Program
• 2 new phonebooth study rooms for the Kimball Junction Branch
• Honorarium for painting instructor at the Coalville Branch
• Meet & greet and honorarium for author Kali Fajardo-Anstine's visit in August 2024 for the One Book One Community Program (Woman of Light)
• Used Book Sales - Most recently September 19-21, 2024
• Human Library Programs at the Kimball Junction Branch - November 4, 2023 and October 5, 2024
• Wraps for the new Kamas and Kimball Junction outdoor materials lockers
• New self-checkout machine for the Coalville Branch
• Nintendo Switch for Teen Programming at all 3 Branches
• New display shelves for the Kimball Junction and Kamas Branches
• Monarch Butterfly Waystation at the Coalville Branch
