Why donate to Holy Cross Ministries?

Every day, families turn to Holy Cross Ministries when they feel unsure of where to go. They find people who listen, care, and walk alongside them with compassion.

Immigrant and Latino families are vital to Utah’s communities and economy, yet many working parents still struggle to afford basics like housing, food, healthcare, and childcare.

Holy Cross Ministries welcomes every family and offers the support they need to move forward. No one is turned away, no matter their background or ability to pay. When you give, you help families feel safe, supported, and hopeful about what comes next.

What services does Holy Cross Ministries (HCM) offer?

Legal Support

HCM is dedicated to helping immigrants and their families gain legal status and participate more fully in the community. Our legal team provides accessible, compassionate support—including free legal consultations for survivors of domestic violence—helping individuals and families find safety, stability, and protection as they build new lives in Utah.

Health Outreach and Mental Health Services

HCM’s bilingual, bicultural community health workers in the Promotora Outreach Program help families navigate barriers to care through CHIP/Medicaid enrollment, prenatal education, and referrals to essential resources such as food pantries and rent assistance.

Through our Counseling Program, HCM also offers trauma‑informed, culturally responsive mental health counseling and referrals in a trusted, welcoming environment where clients feel heard, supported, and empowered to heal.

Helping our underserved avoid the crush of medical debt

HCM is the first nonprofit in the nation to provide professional, limited‑scope legal assistance through trained Medical Debt Legal Advocates. This innovative program helps clients avoid—or escape—the burden of overwhelming medical debt, offering relief, financial stability, and peace of mind during vulnerable moments.

Education Programming

HCM offers the only certified Parents as Teachers (PAT) Program in Summit County, providing evidence‑based home visiting services that support parents and caregivers during a child’s most critical early years, from birth to age three.

Through the b HCM’s bilingual teachers prepare children for kindergarten by building early language, social, and academic skills using Creative Curriculum, a comprehensive, research‑based preschool program.

How will your donation help members of this community?
