Hope Alliance is a Park City nonprofit bringing vision care and eyeglasses to people worldwide. Our mission is to provide sustainable support to under-served communities by providing hope and vision for all.
Hope Alliance provides free, quality vision exams, prescription eyeglasses, and critical eye care for those who do not have access. Hope Alliance is in the process of expanding our vision care services to schools in Summit and Wasatch counties in northeastern Utah. When children cannot see clearly, access to educational opportunities can be severely hindered. But something as simple as a pair of eyeglasses can dramatically change the course of a child's life.
Hope Alliance envisions a future where vision care is available to all who need it, regardless of their station in life or location on the planet. Vision for All - three simple words that, when realized, transform vision care from a luxury to a basic human right. These words act as our north star as we develop new clinics, new services, and outreach to new communities in Utah and around the world.
Modern medicine allows most of us to see the world with clarity. We’re able to live a life of mobility and purpose. However, absent good eyesight, many people find their lives limited. For some, that means their mobility is limited. For others, it means their academic goals are diminished. Many people find their professional aspirations curtailed by poor vision. People miss the expressions on the faces of their loved ones or the drama in the details of nature. For every single one of them, it's personal.
Hope Alliance focuses on establishing the foundation for sustainable eye care. We focus on under-served communities, many of which have never had access to vision care. Most of all, we provide hope. When people can see with clarity, they can live the full spectrum of their hopes and dreams. This is especially true for children whose start in life begins with access to quality education. Many parents and teachers do not realize that the problem with their child's academic failures could be solved simply with a pair of prescription eyeglasses.
Since its founding in 1999, Hope Alliance has impacted over 210,000 lives and 355 project sites in 20 countries. That progress represents over 385,000 volunteer hours, working with over 300 partner organizations, and the generous contributions of countless individuals, organizations, foundations, and businesses.
All of our vision centers provide much-needed eye health care to individuals in our community and around the world who would otherwise have no access to vision care. This is a significant step forward in Hope Alliance’s mission to transform the lives of community members in need through long-term, sustainable solutions. All of our vision centers will help to ensure that everyone has access to life-changing, quality eye care, regardless of their ability to pay.
