Advocacy:  ALPENBOCK. Celebrating Wasatch climbing history while shaping its future. 

"Alpenbock" is not just a film; it's a legacy project that honors the rich history and enduring spirit of rock climbing in Big & Little Cottonwood Canyons of Utah. As climbing continues to evolve, the routes and the passion for where we climb remain the same. We have a challenge and responsibility to preserve and protect these iconic climbing landscapes, rich with historical value. 

Because we can save a place a thousand times, but lose it only once. This is a story of passion, grit, culture, and climbing ethics.

Stewardship: FIXED ANCHOR MAINTENANCE

Established in 2020, the SLCA employs the Nation’s 1st Professional Anchor Maintenance Crew   

The Wasatch has world-class rock climbing; the future of which depends on maintenance of the vertical infrastructure necessary for ascension and descension of climbing routes.

Stewardship: TRAIL WORK AND STEWARDSHIP

Since 2002, the Salt Lake Climbers Alliance has played a role in caring for climbing landscapes across the Uinta Wasatch Cache and Manti la Sal National Forests through climbing access trail stewardship. Trail stewardship is an ongoing need in order to keep climbing areas open and the natural landscapes protected. We accomplish our trail stewardship by combining volunteer Adopt a Crag opportunities with professional trail crews to ensure high quality and long lasting trails.

Community: EVENTS AND EDUCATION

The SLCA focuses on community engagement through events and outreach. We aim to cultivate responsible use of the climbing resources in the general public. AND have a good time doing it!
