South Summit covers towns from Woodland through the Oakley, and north to Wanship. In an area this big, we have a lot of opportunity for trail creation and community connection, but also a variety of challenges in securing, preserving and maintaining the areas to accomplish our mission. With several established trails to maintain and countless new miles yet to come, we rely on help from several places:
Federal and local grants
Partnerships with US Forest Service, local city governments, and private land owners
Support and resources from other local organizations, including: The Summit Land Conservancy, Mountain Trails Foundation, and The Park City Community Foundation
Donors and volunteers like you!
Help support our mission to develop additional trail recreation opportunities and South Summit connectivity by donating to South Summit Trails Foundation on November 5, 2020. Part of the magic of this day is the incredible impact that donations of all sizes can make. Together we can keep open spaces open, and shape the future of our South Summit!
Check out what we've already accomplished on the “Past Projects” tab above!
Our top projects for 2021/22 are:
1 - Slate Creek MTB Trail System - We have some big plans for this unique trail system located within the Uinta-Cache-Wasatch National Forest. The 5.5 miles of trail we opened this year are just the beginning!
2 - Weber River Connectivity Trail
3 - South Summit Master Trail Plan - Working with city and county governments to protect and establish safe, non-motorized pathways connecting the towns of the Kamas Valley.
4 - Maintenance and signage at our established trails
These projects and our organization rely on your help. Donate to South Summit Trails Foundation on November 5th to become a member and support our mission!
