South Summit Trails Foundation

Our MISSION is to enhance the lives of community members and visitors through a system of interconnected and continuous regional and community trails located throughout the South Summit area of Summit County, Utah.

South Summit covers towns from Woodland through the Oakley, and north to Wanship.  In an area this big, we have a lot of opportunity for trail creation and community connection, but also a variety of challenges in securing, preserving and maintaining the areas to accomplish our mission.  

Help support our mission to develop additional trail recreation opportunities and South Summit connectivity by donating to South Summit Trails Foundation on Friday, November 3.  Part of the magic of this day is the incredible impact that donations of all sizes can make. 

With the support of donors during last year's Live PC Give PC event, we had a very successful 2023, with accomplishments including:

- Added THREE new amazing trails to the Slate Creek MTB trail system: White Fir, Left Hand Loop, and the Yellow Pine Campground Connector

- Helped to obtain and put into conservation riverfront property which will now enable us to connect Wooden Shoe Road in Peoa to Stevens Grove Trail in Oakley

- Connected Riverbend Park to Franson Lane Trail via three bridges across the Weber River and two miles of new trail, as part of the larger Weber River Corridor project (check out the video above!)

- Completed $50,000 worth of trail maintenance and expansion at the Oakley Trail Park

- Aided High Star Ranch in Kamas on the re-opening of their trail system to the public after a year-long closure

- Hosted 5 community group hikes and several trail work days (thank you, volunteers!)

- Purchased and installed additional signage on our trails throughout the Kamas Valley

- Participated in events such as Recycle Utah's Harvest Festival, the Oakley Farmers Market, and the Wasatch Back Economic Summit
