Utah Diaper Bank Overview
The Utah Diaper Bank is an all-volunteer 501 C3 nonprofit organization that facilitates diaper drives and donations to supply diapers to other non-profits and government agencies that distribute directly to those in need. We do this because there is no government safety-net program that supplies diapers to low-income families. Most people believe that WIC or SNAP (food stamps) do this, but they do not. There are safety net programs for food, housing, clothing, and medical care but none for diapers. There are over 250 diaper banks in the United States that help fill this gap.
The Utah Diaper Bank was founded in 2013 and distributed 11,000 diapers that year. In 2023 we distributed over 1.6 million diapers in Utah. All free of any charge. We ship monthly to 30-35 non-profits and government agencies along the Wasatch Front and Back once a quarter to eighteen cities outside the greater Salt Lake area.
Over the past few years, we have donated over 200,000 diapers in Summit County. The Christian Center of Park City and Park City Community Foundation’s Early Childhood Alliance make monthly pick-ups of diapers for distribution within Summit County. Some of the agencies that receive our diapers are: Summit County WIC, Summit County Health Department, the People’s Health Clinic, Holy Cross Ministries, St. Gabriel Project, PC Tots, the Park City library
