Utah Avalanche Center

The Utah Avalanche Center has been keeping people on top of The Greatest Snow On Earth® for over 41 years! Our team of professional avalanche forecasters and educators fulfill the UAC mission of saving lives by providing avalanche forecasting, education, and awareness throughout the state of Utah in collaboration with the US Forest Service. Your local Summit and Wasatch County services from the UAC include free avalanche and mountain weather forecasts across the Wasatch and Uinta mountain ranges so you can stay happy and healthy in your beautiful mountainous backyard. Don't forget to check out our free avalanche awareness and affordable education classes being offered in-person and virtually for the 2023-2024 winter season.

Along with The Greatest Snow on Earth®, Utah has some of the greatest avalanche danger in the U.S. which you may be very familiar with around Park City. We live, work, and play within sight of avalanche terrain.  The Utah Avalanche Center helps make backcountry and sidecountry fun and safe by providing up-to-date avalanche forecasts and education and mountain weather forecasts. About 80% of our funding comes from donations, grants, and benefit events.  Please - if you or your family appreciate our services, help us out with a high $5 (or more)!
