Utah Olympic Legacy Foundation: Empowering Youth, Building Healthy Communities and Promoting Inclusion

With the start of a new year, the Utah Olympic Legacy Foundation renews its dedication to empowering youth and strengthening our communities. Guided by our focus on healthy living, Latinx inclusion, and youth scholarships, we’re eager to build on our momentum and share what’s next.

Empowering Youth Through Sport

At UOLF, we believe deeply in the transformative power of sport. As childhood participation in physical activity and organized sports continues to decline at concerning rates, our commitment to fostering a lifelong love of movement and healthy living has never been stronger.

Through physical education classes and camps for students at McPolin and Treasure Mountain—ensuring children who qualify for free or reduced lunch have access to our introductory sports programs—and by striving to achieve 20% Latinx participation in initiatives inspired by the Solomon Fund, UOLF proudly serves as a champion for all youth.

Our programs welcome every child—regardless of race, gender, ability, or economic background—and nurture the social, emotional, and leadership skills that help them thrive for life.

Expanding Our Reach

Through strategic partnerships with local school districts, we are making a significant impact on the lives of young people in our Olympic venue communities. Our sport-centered camps, classes, and development programs have expanded to include Learn to Sport, cross-country skiing, skating, biathlon, Multi-Sport (offering activities like swimming, pickleball, bouldering, gymnastics, karate and more), and our G-Force Skeleton program.

Highlights of Our Impact

  • 67% growth in UOLF youth sport participation
  • UOLF funded $473,000 in subsidized sport participation and scholarships
  • Goal to continue to help disadvantaged youth progress and pursue their dreams, regardless of age or ability
  • 3,300+ participants in our Healthy Communities & Scholarship programs
  • 30 LatinX youth participated in a Learn to Ski program at Utah Olympic Park

Soldier Hollow

  • 12 athletes received scholarship funding this summer for Team SOHO youth sport programs.

Utah Olympic Park

  • Summer FUNdamentals Camp provided 45 scholarships throughout the summer to targeted youth in need if support.

Utah Olympic Oval

  • We launched the Olympic Experience, a new program for Kearns High School students that offered four days of on-ice activities. Through four sessions, students learned curling, ice skating, speed skating, and hockey.

A Stronger Commitment to Inclusion

UOLF and our Healthy Communities initiative are redoubling efforts to reach socio-economically underserved populations and promote diversity and inclusion through partnerships with school districts, healthcare organizations, corporations and non-profit organizations.
