2022 STARTS TODAY!

VOTERISE is a nonpartisan, nonprofit 501(c)(3) founded in 2016 by Park City-ites with a mission to increase voter registration and pre-registration and turnout by Utah’s 16-29-year-olds and underrepresented groups in order to build a more inclusive democracy where all voices are heard.

Here are some of our recent and ongoing accomplishments:

✅ We've registered nearly 28,000 potential voters! 🎉

✅ Volunteers are essential to our success and we ensure that they are highly trained for both in-person and virtual voter registration.

Trainings are held both in-person and via Zoom. Trained volunteers are given voter registration supplies to register their community and volunteer at our events.

✅ The 2020 + 2021 Door Hanger Project

In 2020, VOTERISE and the League of Women Voters distributed 17,500 General Election Get Out The Vote Door Hangers in 3 counties: Summit, Weber, and Salt Lake. These door hangers were in both English and Spanish, with info on how to register to vote or update registration, check registration status, ballot drop box times and locations, by-mail ballot information, and in-person voting options.
- 63 precincts were targeted in the three counties and 62 of them showed increased voter turnout over 2018. And, in each county, our targeted group of precincts had a higher rate of turnout increase than did the county as a whole.
This year, we distributed 17,500 door hangers again in Summit, Weber, and Salt Lake Counties ahead of the 2021 Municipal General Election.
These door hangers provide nonpartisan, bilingual, essential information to voters in low turnout precincts and with your help, we can make the Door Hanger Project an annual event!

VOTERISE successfully initiated a resolution (HCR16) to create a Utah Women's Voter Registration Day which was introduced into the Legislature during the 2019 Session. It passed both Houses unanimously designating February 14th, the date of the first vote in 1870 by women under equal suffrage laws as Utah Women's Voter Registration Day, the first of its kind in the nation.

✅ To celebrate Utah Women's Voter Registration Day this year:

VOTERISE held a month-long celebration of trailblazing women, beginning the Saturday before Utah Women's Voter Registration Day (Feb. 13) with our virtual discussion series through the Saturday before International Women's Day (March 6) with our half-day Virtual Conference.

On February 13, VOTERISE held Utah Women: The Past with our featured speaker Katherine Kitterman, Historical Director of Better Days 2020.
On February 20, VOTERISE held Utah Women: The Present with our featured speaker Dr. Susan Madsen, Founding Director of the Utah Women & Leadership Project.
On February 27, VOTERISE held Utah Women: The Future with our featured speaker Abby Cox, First Lady of Utah.
On March 6, VOTERISE held our half-day Virtual Conference with nearly 40 speakers on panels such as: Why We Need Women Everywhere, The Value of Inclusivity, The Power of Youth Engagement, Building Resilience and Overcoming Setbacks, and more!

We have big plans in 2022 for the third celebration of Utah Women's Voter Registration Day- but we can only do it with your help!

✅ IF I RAN THE CITY

On September 1, 2021, VOTERISE launched a new program, IF I RAN THE CITY, which is designed to call attention to the importance of, and generate interest in, municipal elections.
As we know all too well, many people are unaware of the importance of the decisions made by local elected officials and the impact that they have on our daily lives. IF I RAN THE CITY is targeted at 16-29-year-olds who are invited to submit short videos describing what their top priority would be if they ran their city.
There will be 10 finalists selected from all entries and from there, three winners will be selected. The winners will get to shadow their mayor or city council members for a half day (or full day) to get an inside view of what it’s actually like to run the city.
