At WasteLess Solutions, we believe in the power of relationships to transform our communities. We’re proud to partner with the Park City Climate Fund to support their Zero Food Waste goal.

Since 2018, we’ve been dedicated to preventing and diverting nutritious food that would otherwise go to waste. Our Food Rescue Program not only helps food businesses reduce waste and contribute to their community, but it also supports local nonprofits by ensuring that surplus edible food reaches those in need. By rescuing edible food from businesses and organizations, we prevent it from ending up in landfills, where it would release harmful methane gas—over 25 times more detrimental to the environment than carbon emissions from vehicles. This initiative not only reduces waste but also benefits Park City businesses by lowering disposal costs, supports nonprofits with nutritious food donations, and enriches the lives of residents, building a stronger, more resilient community for everyone.

Since expanding into the Park City community this past year, we have rescued over 1,200 pounds of surplus edible food (1,349 meals), partnered with key local non-profits such as the Christian Center of Park City Food Pantry, the Peace House, and the Clubhouse, worked with nearly 100 community volunteers, and helped dozens of businesses reduce their carbon footprint. We have ambitious growth goals throughout Summit and Wasatch County and WE NEED YOUR HELP! Your funds will help us hire our next Summit County based role, continue to expand our technology infrastructure, and generate materials to further recruit more volunteers and food donors. 

Our overall organizational impact to date has been significant: we have rescued over 2.3 million pounds of food, valued at more than $4.4 million. This equates to serving over 1.9 million meals to food-insecure Utahns, diverting 1,517 tons of CO2e from the atmosphere, and saving more than 270 million gallons of water. Our model creates engagement, collaboration, and empowerment, and we’re excited to continue to expand our mission in Park City!
