Wild Utah Project is now Sageland Collaborative! We are the same organization with the same mission to provide science-based strategies for wildlife and land conservation. Your donation helps us provide the information needed for connecting habitat and protecting species in conservation need.

Our work in the Park City area includes restoring streams and riparian habitat, protecting sensitive species like pollinators and rosy-finches, and helping to protect and restore critical migration corridors.

For 25 years, Sageland Collaborative (formerly Wild Utah Project) has applied the principles of conservation science to land and wildlife management. We bring together community science volunteers, wildlife and habitat studies, and habitat restoration to conservation partners in our region. We seek to engage state and federal agencies and nonprofit partners who are in a position to make on-the-ground decisions regarding public resource management. As state and federal land and wildlife management agencies have their budgets slashed like never before, we continue to provide our partners with effective science-based strategies for conservation.

Along with our partners at Swaner Preserve and EcoCenter, Basin Recreation, Trout Unlimited, and Utah's Division of Wildlife Resources, we are restoring Park City and Summit County's degraded streams using low-tech restoration tools. Human-constructed beaver dams provide hydrological connectivity, reduce erosion, control sediments, and reduce runoff and floods. With the help of community science volunteers, we do hands-on restoration work that helps our watersheds adapt to climate change.

In 2021 alone, we installed over 150 beaver dam analogues with our partners in the Park City area! Your contribution will help us restore more stream habitat and help more species in the area.
