We are looking to raise funds to support our Spanish After-School Program, HABLEMOS.

$1,636

raised by 38 people

$4,000 goal

We are raising money to help organize a Hispanic/Latinx Festival at Ecker Hill Middle School to raise awareness about cultural diversity while helping our students develop their language skills in listening and speaking!

¡HABLEMOS! Spanish After Hours is a student, parent, and teacher-run organization that will actively cultivate respectful, supportive relationships while practicing the Spanish language. The program engages 60+ students in fun Spanish cultural activities such as cooking, crafts, theater, music, and dance while practicing Spanish and building relationships with the wider community.

Why are school clubs great for student learning?

Students choose to be there! Learning is informal, meaningful, practical, and relevant to their lives and interests! Our club meets every Wednesday after school and will enable students to converse in Spanish in a fun way without fear of making mistakes.

The Spanish Club is facilitated and supervised by the two DLI Spanish teachers at Ecker Hill, Patricia Muñoz and Rebeca Gonzalez
