PCHS Earth Club 2022

Please help the Earth Club raise money to fund green efforts at Park City High School as we strive towards a sustainable future by empowering students.

This is PCHS Earth Club's sixth year as a club, and we are so excited to share with you all that we have accomplished!  This year we have around 100 members who are actively participating around the school and the community, and implementing sustainable habits at home.

Each monthly Earth Club meeting this year centers around a specific aspect of sustainability.  So far, we have focused on composting, recycling, and sustainable eating!  Club members have practiced these habits (and many more) by composting food waste at school, recycling glass and batteries at home, cooking plant based meals, shopping with reusable grocery bags, walking to commute, shopping secondhand, planting trees, watching educational films on climate change, and volunteering locally!

Additionally, the club began a new project this year - a video series for the Miner Morning Show correlating with our “green theme of the month.”  We plan to bring back many of our successful and fun events from last year, including the Halloween pumpkin composting event, thrift week, and Earth Week, as well as introducing new projects, like regular trash pickups!  

Beyond all of this, our primary goal for this year is to expand our cafeteria composting program.  But to do this, we need your support!  Earth Club partners with Momentum Recycling, a (totally rad) commercial recycling and composting business headquartered in Utah.   Currently, the club is paying $64 per month for our pickup service, and we need your help to keep it going!  

With your kind and greatly appreciated donation, Earth Club will grow its composting program and continue to implement sustainability projects and efforts throughout the school and community.
