After preserving the iconic Silver King and Thaynes Mines, the Friends are ready to take on another preservation challenge: the Silver King Mill, one of the 24 historic sites on the new Park City Historic Mine Route. 

Built over 100 years ago, the Silver King Mill is a key part of the Silver King Coalition Mine National Historic District, designated in December 2024. With a footprint that makes it one of the largest historic mining structures still standing in the United States, the Silver King Mill is an irreplaceable industrial landmark. The Mill represents Park City's mining history, from the Gilded Age fortunes of Kearns, Keith, Judge, and Ivers, through the 1920s modernization, and into the post-World War II decline.
