Mackenzie Coyne was a vibrant little girl who embraced life and everyone in it.  She was athletic -- excelling at gymnastics and soccer.  She was smart -- she had a passion for learning and reading.  She had just started the French Immersion program at Trailside.  Nothing made her happier than playing with family and friends.  She loved hiking and being outdoors with her family.

This beloved dog-loving Trailside second grader died very suddenly on Valentine’s Day in 2016, two days after her 8th birthday, from complications of influenza.

After moving to Park City in June 2015, she was eager to begin mountain biking and skiing.  She learned to ski through Get Out & Play with her classmates in the winter of 2015-16.  She learned quickly and loved being on the mountain with her friends and family.

YSA, with support and guidance from the Coyne family, are managing this fund to provide less fortunate children at Trailside, and throughout Summit County, the opportunity to get out in to nature's playground to learn to ski and mountain bike.
