When YSA was formed two decades ago, the goal was simple: encourage winter sport participation by local kids. Last year, more than 3,700 young people participated in YSA’s afterschool programs or trained with YSA’s partner winter sport clubs. Together we have forged a world-class sports culture that is innovative and enduring. We’ve created a pipeline that takes kids from lacing skates for the first time to standing atop Olympic podiums.

The YSA takes to heart statistics that show children involved in sports lead healthier lives, demonstrate more motivation and initiative, and make better choices than those who are idle. Through our programs and scholarships all local children are offered the chance to participate in sports regardless of their financial status. We engage along with our partner clubs more than 3,700 youth each year.  These programs keep youth off their screens and active in Utah’s outdoor wonderland regardless of ability to pay.
