The Park City Speed Skating Club is a nonprofit community sports club serving the Park City area with a goal to have fun Our goal is to have fun while teaching the fundamental techniques of speed skating, self-motivation, dedication, leadership, team building and sportsmanship.
Local skaters are posting some of the top times in the nation, but many skaters are using decade-old skates to train. The club is raising money to provide club members with entry level speed skates ($350/pair) to use while starting out in the sport. The club is trying to have a stock on hand of several different sizes. The Club is also trying to help defray ice costs.
The Park City Speed Skating Club offers learn to speed skate clinics and club sessions on Monday evenings at the Park City Ice Arena. These clinics are for both the beginner and advanced skaters. With emphasis on fun and technique, this program is designed for adults and youngsters of all ability levels to learn the basics of short track speed skating. Skaters learn basic track pattern, as well as offensive and defensive track strategies and an introduction to tactics and basics of passing. Skaters also learn the rules and regulations of short track and long track racing.
